A Weekend with Family

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was filled with tons of cleaning, homework, relaxing, and quality time with family. On Sunday my dad and I made a trip to the Poconos to visit some very special people.

My new nephew (and godson!) Jax. He is the cutest little thing ever and such a good baby. My dad, sister, her two kids, my Aunt, and my Poppie all met at the Olive Garden in Stroudsburg to grab lunch and catch up. It’s been almost a year since I’ve seen my Aunt and I missed her so much. I’m kicking myself I didn’t get more pictures. I was so busy taking pictures with other people’s cameras and ipads I forgot to get some on mine. I’ll have to wait until they go on Facebook to get them.

But of course I got pictures of the food! haha Is this weird that seems normal to me? We started off with the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was really good. Going to Olive Garden I know absolutely nothing is healthy (even the salad, it’s iceberg lettuce drenched in dressing) so I just enjoy the meal and don’t worry about the calories.

I got the noodles with vodka sauce and cheese for my main entree. The sauce was amazing but the noodles were undercooked. I still ate it anyways, I was starving that day.

For dessert my sister talked me into splitting the pumpkin cheesecake. I’m not a huge cheesecake fan but it was pretty good! A nice little treat to end the meal.

It was great getting to see my family and catch up on their busy lives. I just wanted to snuggle Jax all day but I was so scared I was going to drop him. He seems so fragile! He slept the whole meal and then woke up as we were sitting around afterwards talking. How cute is this face he’s giving my sister? He’s so smushy!

My dad was in his glory seeing his two grandsons. I can’t believe how big Jamie is getting and how handsome he is becoming. He’s so funny, the whole meal he thought he was a monster and wanted to eat like a monster and drink his juice like a monster and rawr like a monster. The life of a three year old.

The drive home featured a trip to the Crossings so I could check out the J.crew store. They were having super sales but not on anything I was looking for. (I am in desperate need of new jeans!) The trip was not a lost cause though as my dad found an Izod hat he loves to add to his ever-growing hat collection. ;p

The next night Diane’s daughter came over with her family so it was more sitting around and chatting over food. Diane cooked an amazing meal for all of us and I filled up my plate with everything minus the chicken. Between the brussels sprouts, the asparagus, the green beans, and the potatoes I had a delicious meal that was super filling! I’m so glad I got to spend this weekend with family. I’m extra excited that I get to do it again in just a few days for Thanksgiving! This truly is the most magical time of year!

Question of the Day: What was the highlight of your weekend?
