Welcome!

My name is Erin and I am a 22-year-old marketing major. I live in Williamsport, PA and love to shop, eat, play with my puppies, and spend time with my fiancé in State College. I am trying to lead a healthy life fueled by good food and exercise. That is not to say I don't love a cannoli now and then. I'm striving for a healthy balance and blogging about the journey along the way.

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today, I talked on the phone with Josh for the first time. Our phone call lasted over three hours.

The next day we had our very first date. And it was absolutely perfect. We got coffee from Saints and then walked around State College. We explored buildings and a rooftop and a bridge. We had dinner at a Thai restaurant (that is unfortunately now closed) and got cupcakes at Indulge. We talked non-stop and I remember laughing the whole night. As it was starting to get dark out and the temperature was dropping he took my hand and my heart began to race. We went back to his place to eat our cupcakes and sat talking on his couch, with him still holding my hand. We talked about everything under the sun, it was so easy to talk to him, our conversation never felt forced. It was our first date and yet I could so clearly see myself sitting just like that with him, holding hands and talking about our days far off in the future. We had our first kiss that night, before I floated home on a cloud.

I can’t believe its been a year, but at the same time I feel like I’ve known him forever. He is my best friend. And I am so excited to get to celebrate a year of happiness and joy and love with him!

Since he promised he wouldn’t read this I thought I would share what I got him for our anniversary on here. I really hope he likes them!

I got him a picture frame box with a photo of us from Halloween.

Inside it contains 101 notes for 101 things that I love about him.

I also had our letters bound into a book. I know this is something some people don’t feel comfortable sharing but I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Josh and I met online and began emailing at the end of August. We sent daily emails until the day we met. 222 pages and 125,910 words. We basically wrote a book together.

And his final present is another book, this one containing photos. I got Josh a Mixbook that tells the story of our first year together in pictures! It was so much fun to relive all the memories as I went through the pictures, and I am so happy with how it turned out.

When we went duck feeding last Spring.

Celebrating 4th of July together and Josh’s Masters Graduation this past Summer.

Here’s to many more years as perfect as this one. I feel so lucky to have found the person I want to experience life with and that makes me laugh and think and cherish each and every moment.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Happy 11/11/11!
