Welcome!

My name is Erin and I am a 22-year-old marketing major. I live in Williamsport, PA and love to shop, eat, play with my puppies, and spend time with my fiancé in State College. I am trying to lead a healthy life fueled by good food and exercise. That is not to say I don't love a cannoli now and then. I'm striving for a healthy balance and blogging about the journey along the way.

Graduation

Erin Smith Graduation Girl Gone Veggie

I graduate college today!

This was high school me. I can’t believe that was five years ago.

It feels weird to close such a big chapter in my life. I’ve gone to school since I can remember. Its always kind of been my thing. I definitely want to go for my MBA soon, but I’d like to get some more work experience first.  Hopefully there’s a nice marketing firm in Omaha that wants me!

So I Guess I’m a Pescatarian Now?

0803p232b-flounder-l

The last time I had a piece of chicken or turkey was in  August of 2011. The last time I had a piece of red meat was accidentally at my bridal shower in Connecticut. I mistakenly thought a feta meatball was a feta falafel ball. It was not very pleasant and reminded me why I never ate much meat to begin with. The last time I had a piece of fish was when I was

A Big Announcement

Omaha, Nebraska, Erin Smith Girl Gone Veggie

This has been a year of exciting changes. I’m graduating with my Bachelors this summer, Josh is graduating with his Doctorate, and then we’re getting married. Any of those three things would be a big event on their own but we’ve just added another exciting thing to our to-do list.

We’re moving to Omaha, Nebraska! This is going to be a huge change for us but one we’re so excited about. Josh was offered

De-Stressing PINspiration

Happiness Erin Smith Girl Gone Veggie

Dealing with stress and anxiety isn’t fun. It’s also easy to feel like you’re the only one in the world who’s fighting that fight. This post is filled with some of my favorite Pinterest photo inspirations on the subject. Hopefully they help you when you feel a little too overwhelmed or a little too worried.

This quote is the only thing I remember from that movie. I know exactly what she meant.

Getting Back on the Treadmill: Running with Asthma

Girl Gone Veggie Erin Smith Running Runner Sweat Pink FitFluential Running with Asthma

I did something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time today.

At the top of my to-do list today was to workout.  I was trying not to put any pressure on myself by telling myself it could be any kind of workout. Pilates and I have been very good friends lately. As much as I love stretches and killer ab crunches I really, really wanted to run today. In the last three

The Truth About Orange Juice

Orange Used For Making Orange Juice in Vitamix Erin Smith Girl Gone Veggie

So you know those orange juices you buy from the store that say they’re 100% orange juice and not made from concentrate? You would think that would mean the orange juice is fresh squeezed and then bottled and shipped directly to your local grocery store.  I was shocked to learn recently that there is more to our orange juice than meets the eye. Once commercial orange juice is squeezed it is stored in giant holding

Ringing in 2013

Hey everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start. I’m slowly but surely getting through all my Connecticut recaps. Today’s recap is of New Years Eve with Josh and his family. It was such a special time. Two New Years ago I was talking to Josh on the phone as the ball dropped, last year I spent it with him in person, and I was so excited to be getting to do

What Alice Forgot

I love winter break. Aside from getting to rest, relax, visit Josh’s family in Connecticut, and reflect on how amazing 2012 was, I also got to read. I love immersing myself in a good book, but somehow never seem to get around to it in-between classes and work. I love PBFingers book club and was so excited when I saw her January book club pick was What Alice Forgot.

The book jacket description right

A Different Kind of Christmas Story

I’m going to try and keep this story short and sweet. I’ve got to get some rest before a busy day at work tomorrow and then I have an early day of travel on Saturday to make my way to Connecticut for the holidays. For everyone who wished me luck with my Doctors appointment today, thank you. The GI thinks I have an intolerance to some type of food or a digestion issue, thankfully nothing
